Pan Football was founded in 2000, and the club has competed in the local leagues (run by the Danish football association) since 2005.
The goal of Pan Football has always been to create a community of people interested in football. Being part of Pan is a great way of meeting new friends, whilst providing an opportunity to enjoy playing the game. It is also a good alternative to going out to bars etc. as well as an opportunity to get together with like-minded gay guys.
Pan Football is a mix of beginners and more experienced players, but we play with the same fight and team spirit as any other football team – we play with passion!
The number of members varies over the year, but is currently around 40 – of which some are less active. We have players of all ages, with the majority of guys being gay, but we also have straight players in the club.
For a number of seasons Pan has played with both a ‘Senior’ (no age limit) and ‘Old Boys’ (32 and over) team in the league. In most recent years we have played 7-a-side football, but if members agree we can register for 11-a-side football.
Our player roster is increasingly international – we have players from Italy, England, Greece and Lithuania, as well as the Nordic countries. We also have several Danish players from different ethnic backgrounds.
Pan Football is an active club and we arrange regular city tours, parties, watching the game with pizza etc. We also travel every year to take part in tournaments abroad. In other words, we get on really well together and have a great social atmosphere – we play hard on and off the field!
On our Facebook page you can find more information and see some recent pictures from games or socials.
Our leagues take place in spring and autumn. In the spring we have matches from April until June and in the autumn from August until October.
In the summer the club also arranges informal training sessions once a week, and throughout the winter we play indoors in a sports hall. The time and place of training can vary, but you can get more information from our committee (see ‘Contact’).
Once or twice a year the club participates in tournaments abroad. In recent years, this has taken us to cities such as Stockholm, Manchester, Antwerp and Budapest among others. At the Pan Games in 2014, we won the gold medal with the American Ambassador on the team. In May 2017, we plan to participate in the ‘Outgames’ to be held in Miami, Florida
Our home matches take place at Valby sports park. The address is Julius Andersensvej 1.
We are open to all, and new players are always welcome.
For training you just need to bring your own clothes, boots and shin pads etc. You can change at home and turn up ready to play, or you can use the changing facilities provided. For those who want to, it is also possible to shower afterwards.
For matches, Pan Football’s match kit (shirts, shorts and socks) are provided for players.
For membership you pay a basic membership to Pan Idræt (the association) and an annual fee for Pan Football. The fee covers kit, balls, travel contributions, social expenses etc.
