GAME project
An EU-funded project that strengthens volunteer leadership and inclusive association operations in Pan Idræt.
Pan Idræt is a proud participant in the EU-funded project GAME, which aims to strengthen volunteer leadership and good association management in Denmark's largest LGBTQI+ sports association. The project is implemented in collaboration with EGLSF (European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation) and builds on the experiences from the +PLUSS project. GAME runs from May to October 2026.
What is the project about?
Pan Idræt Copenhagen is Denmark's largest LGBTQI+ sports organization and has played a leading role in creating inclusive sports opportunities for more than four decades. As the organization grows, it is a challenge to ensure that the volunteer-run structure remains sustainable, effective and able to meet the needs of a diverse membership.
The GAME project focuses on strengthening the association’s pipeline of volunteer leaders and improving association leadership across the club. Building on the experiences from the EGLSF-led +PLUSS project, Pan Idræt is developing and piloting a structured leadership program to support current and future volunteers. The initiative offers practical tools, training and guidance so that volunteers can confidently take on leadership responsibilities – while promoting more inclusive membership practices.
The project focuses in particular on:
- To strengthen volunteer leadership and build a sustainable management structure
- To equip volunteers to take on leadership roles with confidence
- To promote more inclusive membership practices throughout the association
What will the project achieve?
The project aims to strengthen the long-term sustainability of Pan Idræt through better volunteer leadership and stronger governance structures. Through the development of practical tools and training resources, the member experience is improved and knowledge is created that can be shared with other LGBTQI+ sports organizations across Europe – and with the wider EGLSF network.

Long-term effect
The GAME project aims to strengthen Pan Idræt's long-term sustainability. By investing in people and organizational development, the project ensures that Pan Idræt can continue to offer safe, high-quality sports communities for LGBTQI+ people and allies – while sharing valuable knowledge with the wider EGLSF network.
The project runs from May 15, 2026 to October 1, 2026.
