About Swimming
At Copenhagen Mermates we have five weekly teams with different degrees of difficulty and content. We are approximately 100 lgbtq+ people, and there is room for between 15 and 30 swimmers per day. team.
The most important thing for us is to have fun together. No matter how good you are at swimming, there is room for you at Copenhagen Mermates, both exercisers, competitive swimmers and beginners.
Social activities outside the swimming pool are very important to us. That is why we hold several social activities during the season, e.g. season start party, summer party, Christmas fun or a beer and some food after training.

Swimming offers and levels
On almost all training evenings, you can either participate in program swimming or swim in the freestyle lane yourself.
Freestyle swimming
Freestyle swimming is an offer of swimming without a shared program. Here you can swim independently at your own pace.
Program swimming
Our skilled trainers prepare a new program for each training session. The program is adapted to different levels, so there are always new challenges no matter how much you swim.
Levels
Beginner
For those of you who either have difficulty swimming or lack technique and skills, we have a special beginner class on Wednesdays. Here you will learn the 4 styles (crawl, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly) over the course of a year in a fun and relaxed way. It is only assumed that you can already swim a lane. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity for beginners and to help with water fears.
C-level
Are you roughly If you are familiar with the four strokes (front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly), level C is right for you. It is only expected that you can swim two lanes without stopping (2×25 meters).
At level C you will learn about fitness and interval swimming. You will start swimming quickly and gain advanced water awareness, which will strengthen your technical and motor skills.
Program length: 1000-1800 meters/hour.
B-level
Assuming you are reasonable familiar with the styles breaststroke, crawl and backstroke, and that you are familiar with butterfly. In addition, it is assumed that you have a reasonable level of fitness and experience with interval swimming. At this level, swimming is intensified, and technical and motor skills are fine-tuned. Program length: 1500-2500 meters/hour
A-level
Requires that you are very familiar with all four styles. In addition, it is assumed that you have good fitness and experience with interval swimming. This level is the club's highest program level and requires advanced technical and motor skills.
Program length: 1500-2500 meters/hour

THURSDAY Frankrigsgade Swimming Pool 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Competitive Thursday – Coach: Marco
For experienced program swimmers (BA) who want to optimize their performance, possibly with a view to participating in competitions. You must be able to swim all 4 strokes (breaststroke, crawl, backstroke and fly) with good technique, and follow one stroke throughout the program.
Note: No free swimming
WEDNESDAY – Sankt Annæ Gymnasium
Beginners' class for those with light training at 19:00-20:00
Endurance Wednesday – Coach: Mirja at 8:00 PM-9:00 PM
For program swimmers (ABC). The program focuses on endurance over longer distances in primarily the breaststroke and crawl styles.
FRIDAY –St. Annæ Gymnasium, Swimming pool at 7:00 PM-8:00 PM
Fun Friday – Coach: Jakob/Morten
Mixed program swimming with A, B and C levels as well as a lane for freestyle swimming.
SATURDAY – Hillerødgade Swimming Pool 5:00 PM-6:00 PM
Super Saturday – Coach: changes
Changing program – everyone is welcome. Sometimes there will be special workshops on Saturdays – these will be announced well in advance.
SUNDAY – Sankt Annæ Swimming Pool 4:00 PM-5:00 PM
Surprise Sunday – Coach: changes
Various activities, e.g. freestyle swimming or workshops.
Registration/cancellation
Registration is via the app. There must be a minimum of 8 swimmers registered for the team. If the class is cancelled, those registered will be notified.

Membership and dues
As a member of Pan Idræt, you pay a club fee, as well as a fee for the teams you are part of. The club fee is only paid once, regardless of how many teams you register for.
- The fee for going swimming is 110 DKK per month.
- Additionally club fee is paid 50 DKK per month.
- Registration fee of 150 DKK. (starting from February 1, 2025).
