About water polo in Pan Idræt

Pan water polo We have existed since 2008 and are Denmark's first and only LGBTQ water polo team. We are about 40 players between 20 and 50 years old. The team consists of both men and women, beginners and experienced players. If you want to try to get your heart rate up really well and be challenged on your ball talents, come along and try us out.

Water polo. Water polo is an absolutely wonderful sport if you love water, team play and intense training. It's both healthy, fun and sometimes pretty wild. A sport you look forward to and which makes you sleep well afterwards. A sport that can also give you a really nice figure.

What is water polo? High heart rate? Handball where you can't touch the bottom (of the pool)? Rugby tackles, but without the injuries? Yes - and then it's really fun .. Water polo is a team sport with seven players in the water at a time. The game is a bit like handball, just in water. There are a number of special swimming types such as polocrawl and polo back and polofly, which are suitable for the game, but of course it is an advantage if you are a good swimmer. You also get strong legs as an important part of the game is treading water and then you are allowed to throw a ball!

Team spirit: We are very proud of our team spirit and it is crucial for us to have fun when we train and play. It is also important for us to have fun after training when we go out to eat together - or meet for a beer on the weekend. We take our sport seriously, but we also take responsibility for each other seriously.

Matches and tournaments. In Denmark we play in the 2nd division. A couple of times a year we go abroad and participate in international tournaments, where we meet teams from Germany, England, the Netherlands and France.

Water polo and swimming: When you are a member of Pan water polo, you can also participate in swimming training with Copenhagen Mermates.

Find us on facebook, Instagram or write to us at vandpolo@panidraet.dk, if you feel like joining. There is always room for one more in the pool.
