Exemption from membership fees

A number of sports exempt certain members from fees in order to compensate key volunteers such as coaches and steering committee members. Fee exemption means that the cost of the membership fee for the member concerned is borne by the respective sports section that has granted the membership fee exemption.

 The above also applies to honorary members of Pan Idræt, where the nominating section bears the costs associated with the fee exemption.

 Fee exemption can only be granted for the coming season. If a fee exemption is granted for the club fee, it will be for the calendar year.

 Procedure for exemption from fees
The sports section concerned must submit the list of members for whom a fee exemption has been granted by 17 December in order for it to be applicable for the club fee for the coming calendar year. The fee exemption for the club fee expires on 31 December of the coming year unless it is renewed using the same method.

Should there be an exemption for an activity fee the relevant section must submit the list of members to be exempted from activity fee no later than 14 days before it is due for collection (the date varies from activity to activity). The exemption for the activity fee expires at the end of the payment period unless it is renewed using the same method. 

Information about name etc. of the member (s) to be exempted, stating whether the exemption includes both club membership fee and / or activity fee is to be submitted on the form on the second tab of this page.

If request is submitted after the deadline, the fee must be paid in the usual way by the member and any exemption subsequently requested as a payment request. 

Example
Badminton wants to exempt a coach from club membership fees (charged January 1) and activity fees (charged August 1 and February 1). The section steering committee (normally its treasurer) submits information to the office no later than 17 December on the exemption from the club membership fee and the activity fee in February.

If exemption from the activity fee is to continue to be granted after 1 August, the section must again submit information to the office no later than 14 days before 1 August.
